I am trying to make a server with my friends; but, I keep spawning in the water below the ship. What do I need to change to fix this.

Hi, everyone. I have a question about the Purity Focus. I read you're able to clear a tainted node by left clicking on it with a wand that has a purity focus. Only I've spend 2 minecraft days holding down the left mouse button on a tainted node, and it's not working. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a specific wand? Any help is welcome.

there is a Vis cost for purifying nodes, you might need a wand with a bigger vis capacity
I use a fully charged Cold Capped greatwood wand. Do you know the vis cost? because using the focus on the ground works just fine and doesn't require much vis. regardless of the answer, thanks for the help :D
I was never able to purify until i got a silverwood scepter.

I have a very annoying problem. Sometimes chunks of the world will just disappear, but are still "active". Like mobs can walk through it, but when I try to, I move really slowly and glitch up and down over and over again. This mostly occurs in large strips. The two things that seem to help are leaving and joining the world, and going to the ship and back. However, I discovered I can lunge with a longsword and float/glide through the chunks, or I could sail through. Even though I can overcome these, they are a nuisance to me and i wish to know a permanent fix. Also a random tip is: you can shear the infected sheep.
those are just unloaded chunks, happens to me when i travel by boat too fast.
I don't really think so, because when I hit the reload chunks buttons, it doesn't get fixed. This prevents me from getting more Fusewood and from pushing back the taint, and sometimes even swallows half my bio-dome!
I've seen this problem in normal minecraft and other mod packs, the only sure way I've found with dealing with it is to walk 2-3 chucnks away from the disappeared chunk, save the game, then load the save back up, annoying but not a fault of the modpack

with
cleanuptime=0

What I did was turn my view distance as low as I could and it helped, also does lowering your quality.
Havig some problems while playing blightfall, The modpack starts just fine and about 8 mins of play the modpack crashes to a whitescreen. The technic log can be found here: http://pastebin.com/F64WUjLu and system specs can be found here http://pastebin.com/EynHv1Gg. I appreciate any help.

Hey I am playing in two different Blightfall servers. In one I killed Hematurge and got a Bound Blade. In my second attempt he did not drop it. Does anyone know how his drop table works and whether or not I can still get a bound blade since I can not make a diamond sword due to the mandate.

My Scout chapter suddenly locked up. I'm playing multiplayer with a party of 5. Is it supposed to lock, or is this a bug? Is it reputation related? Ours is above 200.

I discovered the ore caches, which opened the chapter back up, but only the ore quests are visible; none of the others are.
Solved; most likely caused by inviting a player to our party who had made some progress on Dome Alpha, whereas we had all chosen Dome Beta. I'm not sure if he'd completed the Dome Alpha quest or whether he'd just used the drop pod. At any rate, it broke our whole scouting tree. I wasn't able to resolve it by kicking him; I had to reset our entire quest book.
How did you go about resetting the book? I've got the same problem.
I got a 64 bit system, and when I try to allocate 2 GB of ram, it doesn't show up with, well, 2 GB of ram, so I just get the "This requires 2 GB of ram" Error, while I have 64 bit Java

Unless you went to the java list and specifically chose a 64 bit version, you are still on 32
uninstall all current versions of java, install newest 64 bit version, set ram in both java and the technic launcher.
Could you release a 2nd pack that is Blightfall that doesn't have the world or quests but has all the mods and other custom stuff.

Generating your own world will do that. you'll probably have to change your starting location because you'll fall from the sky where the ship should be. But the world will be randomly generated and include all of the blightfall mods, but not the blight

why are some of the tool entries in tools and modifiers just black bars? I can see the description when I look in the weapon crafting station so it doesn't really do anything

if you are using a server, you have to use the world folder included with the pack, change the name. The generated world isnt the one you need.

tired of playing Blightfall and achieve nothing. it's so damn hard to even move that its like a bad boring game just because its retardly hard to advance in the world. Been pkaying with my girlfriend and we are tired. we could clean the 3 small islands on the map but that shit never stp growth and it has become not fun anymore to watch it go wrong again and again. what's the fun of all this? seriously.

Dude, follow the quests, some better remedy against the taint comes available. Thaumcraft is essential. And yeah, its not easy. This makes it fun in my opinion...

Its regrowing because there are tunnels under the islands. either close off the tunnels or leave a bloom to prevent the growth from going to the island

killed a wither today with my paper sword. Re-read the life steal description for using necrotic bone: one heart restored per hit. I assume it is the same when life steal is added via the matching alloy. Can this be change to 1 heart on final blow and on each normal hit only a 25% chance to add 1/2 heart ? (Not sure about the percentage). But I had no problem at all to kill the wither, but should have. I went down by only 1 or 2 hearts at most. This is supposed to be a really challenging fight. I also put life steal on my cross bow bolts, but there they seem not to have any effect.

you can modify some things through the various config files (you'll have to dive through the config files to see what all they will let you modify)
But if your looking for a challenging fight, then you will be better served by lookin into other mod packs, Blightfall isn't about combat, its in there and there are some OP and unbalanced weapon and armor items, not all of them were changed because its wasn't the focus of the mod pack, story and cleaning taint was the focus
can you recommend some good battle modpacks in the technic launcher? Im finishiing up blightfall and wondering what there is for me to tackle next. not really a fan of tekkit
I did look at the config files. There is no setting for the amount of life gained. So unfortunately this is something where a config value needs to be added.
I agree that the focus and appeal of Blightfall are storyline and taint, but still, initially it is tough to fight anything, such that each fight won feels like a real accomplishment. Would be good if it stays like that later in the game. Killing the big bosses should also be an accomplishment that "was worth the effort".
I'm not much of a battle guy, so sorry, nothing that I can recommend.
how did you get necrotic bones to add life steal
Why do you bother with necrotic bones? Get some amordrine. I'm not sure if it's an oversight but amordrine cleaver and signalum crossbow are the description of overpowered and imbalanced.
really I want the bones to make heart tanks, not life steal
