Install The VanillaQuest Initiative

Step 1

Installing a modpack using the Technic Launcher is easy. If you don't already have the launcher downloaded, visit our download page to get the latest version.

Step 2

Type in the modpack name (The VanillaQuest Initiative) or paste the following url into the search box.

Step 3

Finally, click Install at the bottom right of the launcher after you select The VanillaQuest Initiative from the list on the left. The launcher will handle everything else!

The VanillaQuest Initiative Version 1.6.1

created by TheDrumkid92 on Minecraft 1.7.10
I'm sketching out environments for VanillaQuest Initiative 2! I'm making a more engaging storyline instead of a step-by-step. It'll be more geared towards those of you who finished the first one. I'll keep you all updated as my creative process continues!

this modpack is great, but I get intense server side lag, even after installing Fastcraft and Optifine. Please fix this in the updates!

maybe it's your computer. i don't lag that much

I get 60 fps constantly, it's server side lag though. Any help on fixing this?
Posted by Revivers 7 years ago
since he hasnt answered maybe see if there are any updates? if so update it but if not then maybe u should just reinstall the modpack

I think it's an issue with my RAM, as all other modpacks have no server side lag, and it works fine on another computer (which has 4gb RAM and 64 bit java), and my pc only has 2 gb RAM. I have tried reinstalling the pack many times on my PC, but no solution.

I didn't create the pack with server installation in mind, it's meant to be a single-player experience. If you're running it on a server, I'm not sure how to help :/ If you're just talking about block lag, then it's an issue with your compy. Most likely RAM or a processor that's bottlenecking performance. If you're running windows, hold ctrl+shift+esc to bring up the performance window. As you play the pack, see if any of the sections are redlining or peaking above 85%. That's usually a good way to see if you're running it too hard

ok, thanks, it is block lag, and I do have very low RAM on my PC so it must be an issue with my RAM.

You haven't kept us updated about the VQI2, please update us!
Posted by Revivers 7 years ago
Sorry! I was going to work on it over the winter break, but I wound up playing Dead Rising 4, FF XV, Stardew Valley, Unturned, etc etc... I was too busy playing games to create anything. OOPS! I have pages of notes on VQI 2, just need the time to sit down and do all the legwork!
Posted by TheDrumkid92 7 years ago
Would it be alright if you gave me an intro/synopsis of what the VQI2 will be about? I'm really excited for it. But please add Optifine, fastcraft and other mods to reduce lag.
Posted by Revivers 7 years ago
VQI2 is going to be a direct sequel to the first VQI. Since Minecraft has had a ton of new features and updates since the first one, the new one will encompass as much of the new stuff as possible. So new dungeons fashioned around new mobs, etc.

How's VQI2 coming along now? Which version of minecraft will it use? And it would be great if you could add some client mods (e.g. Mouse tweaks, inventory tweaks, Journey map, Foamfix, etc.) into the modpack.

Hello TheDrumkid92 I'm Wanting to make an Unofficial Copy Of This Pack Called VanillaQuest Initiative Reborn (UnOfficial) May I Request Permission From You Due To Copyright?

It will Include Better Questing Instead of Hqm But With Optional Hardcore mode There Will Be Quest Updated and Improved and Also A Few Suprises You'll Explore When The Pack's Release

Of course I do not speak for the creator (I could be completely wrong here), but you could just make it completely unique (with a different name) and that shouldn't be an issue, of course you should still mention that it was inspired by this pack and credit the creator. But this sort of thing has happened before (crash landing -> forever stranded, skyfactory -> hundreds of different packs)

Honestly if I'm not actively involved in the creation, I'd prefer if you called it something else. I don't know if I'll ever get to return to making modpacks, but I really like VQI as a name and concept, and would prefer it remain my intellectual property. Thank you for asking first, let me know when your modpack has been created, I'd love to check it out
