Install Warhammer 40k: Blood & Iron

Step 1

Installing a modpack using the Technic Launcher is easy. If you don't already have the launcher downloaded, visit our download page to get the latest version.

Step 2

Type in the modpack name (Warhammer 40k: Blood & Iron) or paste the following url into the search box.

Step 3

Finally, click Install at the bottom right of the launcher after you select Warhammer 40k: Blood & Iron from the list on the left. The launcher will handle everything else!

The development of this pack is being suspended. It's too buggy to play in multiplayer and single player has issues with players losing their quest progress/broken quests. These are Better Questing issues that will not be addressed.

It would appear that the OP changed the quest parameters to make it so that it doesn't autoclaim the rewards upon completing the quest requirements. I recently attempted to playthrough this modpack (An EXCELLENT modpack by the way. This is an absolute treasure.) and encountered several glitches that unfortunately ended the run. The most notable one was a glitch that eliminated the quest requirements for some of the skills, traits, and stats in the Character Sheet. Since the majority of quests have the auto-claim reward option toggled, this made the quests that were bugged constantly claim the reputation reward and decrease the reputation for skills, stats, and traits. This auto-claim reward system is extremely detrimental, breaking entire quest chains due to the glitch where the quest requirements vanish for whatever reason. It is possible to alleviate the problem by doing what the OP did and change the quests to not auto-claim anymore.

so heads up, it seems better questing and the submods for it have had there fix's backported to a new version for 1.7.10, im sure some work would be involved to get everything in the right shape, but its possible now it seems

It's not, I tried. He did update his mods but apparently the backported NPC integration changes render that sub-mod incompatible with the 1.7.10 NPC mod. Basically, I can't interface with NPC factions anymore, breaking the game in a whole new way. I made a bug report but I doubt he'll get around to fixing it. Furthermore, he basically admitted that his netcode is garbage and that BQ will collapse on servers with sizable populations. Considering the scope of my BQ content I imagine that would be a lot less sizable for us.

it's pretty sad to see this happen but tbh it was inevitable, I love 40k and it was great to see something like this happen so thank you for the hours you've put into this pack.

Not that it's much solace but I am working on a fallout pack for 1.12 that has a lot more potential than this one, at least based off what mods actually work and are updated.
