The Wilderness Echoes Version 3.7

created by xXLeafKittenXx on Minecraft 1.6.4
I have now created a guide! It will be updated, but here it is: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S3I9jJN7njvVcbOlXWqCrPwKFoHI9fq-WTHjbR9pdHA/pub

Read the Guide! /\ /\ /\

And also this: \/ \/ \/

World Generation:
Use the ATG - Alternate world type for the best world generation. The screenshots onthe ABOUT page are from this world type. Expect some lag when first entering a new world, but it should clear up in a few seconds.

LAG:
Try pressing F9 to disable better grass and leaves. It won't look as good, but it should lag less. Try updating your video settings. Disabling all animations in the settings (optifine is installed) will increase FPS noticably. Play around with the optifine settings. Disabling Matmos may help. To set your Matmos volume, hold F7 and look up or down! You may also need to hold the fn key depending on your computer.

Changes From Vanilla:
- Flint is now obtained by 4 gravel in a crafting grid.
- Seeds are obtained by using a how on grass blocks (not the tall kind).
- Torches will burn out. Flint, Flint and steel, animal fat and others can light them when you first place them. Unlit torches can be repaired with coal in the crafting grid.
- Blocks are harder to break. Try cutting down trees (Treecapitator!) for building materials, and exploring caves for ores. Branch mining is not very effective.
- Light sources are extremely valuable, especially in caves.
- Food grows slower and heals less hunger. Take this into account! And don't run!
- Pay attention to Tempurature, thirst, and air quaility (in caves).

Trees!
Axes can now chop down an entire tree. Some special axe damaging is applied, but not very important. Logs take a bit longer to destroy, so don't freak out.

Ore generation:
Ore generation is changed in this mopack. Use this guide to see where ores generate.

Tool Progression:
Read a Tinker's Construct guide to use smelteries and tool making. Vanilla tools are not craftable besides gold, diamond, and swords. Also read the Iguana's TConstruct page. Material Levels go like this:

Flint/Bone > Copper
Copper > Iron
Iron > Tin
Tin+Coppper = Bronze > Diamond/Obsidian
Aluminum+Obsidian = Alumnite > Ardite
Ardite > Cobalt
Cobalt+Ardite = Manyullyn = Top tier

A smeltery will be needed for metals.

Disabling features:
To disable Matmos, hold F7 or Fn+F7 (depending) and look down until it reaches 0%.
To disable Better First Person, press F6 or Fn+F6.

Latest Update

I am now working on a 1.7.10 version for this pack! It will have some bugfixes and more food, and will generally be better. More info on the modpack page.
