Install The VanillaQuest Initiative

Step 1

Installing a modpack using the Technic Launcher is easy. If you don't already have the launcher downloaded, visit our download page to get the latest version.

Step 2

Type in the modpack name (The VanillaQuest Initiative) or paste the following url into the search box.

Step 3

Finally, click Install at the bottom right of the launcher after you select The VanillaQuest Initiative from the list on the left. The launcher will handle everything else!

You might have to give the modpack some more RAM from your computer/laptop. From the Technic Launcher, hit "Launcher Options" in the top right. Tab over to "Java Settings" and use the tab menu for "Memory" to increase the amount of RAM it can use. Make sure not to set it to use ALL of your RAM or more than your total RAM. Bad stuff could happen if you do that. Hopefully that fixes the problem!

If you're into Sphax, this one should cover most of everything. You'll need the base sphax pack, then patch it in via this link http://bdcraft.net/community/pbdc-patches-rel/hardcore-questing-mode-t2162-20.html

idk if its just my game, but wehn i break blocks they dont break and i have to break it like 12 times to get the item. and also when i get rewards for the quests it takes a while to get the items, and it says "unclaimed rewards' even if i got the rewards. so pls fix, thank you.

The blocks breaking thing is probably your computer struggling to cope with the modpack.

The block breaking is an issue with your machine. I'd try lower render distance and switching from fancy graphics to fast graphics. If it's not utilizing your PC to max specs, there's a setting in the technic launcher that allows you to allocate extra RAM to your game. That sometimes helps performance. As for the unclaimed rewards glitch, that's a problem with the version of HQM I'm using. I'm not sure if there's been a fix for it yet or not. I'll look into it

In the Technic Launcher go to: Launcher Options (top right) > Java settings > Memory you can allocate more ram to the game, helps it run better, I allocat 3 - 4 gbs of ram and run most mods just fine, give it a try, also Thedrumkid92 has a good point lower graphics in the game itself.

Good Modpack can you make it on multiplayer? please
Hacker_05 8 years ago
Thanks! I'll look into patching it for multiplayer. It'd require a pretty big overhaul of the rewards system, and maybe even an alternate map

angel666 8 years ago
It still works, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the pack. Not sure what the problem might have been. Have you tried since then?

How did you keep the Quest? Did you just do what you normally do when you make a modpack, or how did you do it?

There is a setting in the HQM files that allows editing the book. When you're done, you can just copy the whole thing over and switch off the editing mode
