Shadow of Middle Earth Version Official 2.0

created by Saint_Felipe on Minecraft 1.7.10

##Exclusive Features

  • The world gets very, very dark at night time. Hold anything shiny(ex. torches) to light up the area around you.
  • Almost all ore spawns in Middle-Earth, that includes Diamonds and Redstone ores.
  • In order to find items that normally would not spawn in Middle Earth (Ex. Enderpearls, Blaze Rods, and Quartz) Look into the dungeons that spawn all over the world. ##First Time Loading up the Modpack
  • When loading into the game the first time I highly recommend making a creative world (with cheats enabled) to change things to fit your screen.
  1. First thing that you want to do is open your options and configure your optifine settings. Look at this website to learn how to properly use optifine Optifine Help. -While changing your settings make sure to change your controls to fix any conflicts and hotkeys work for your keyboard.
  2. Next you want to type in the command /amuicfg and move things to fit your screen and resolution.
  3. The last thing I would do on this world is take a quick look through NEI and see what interests you.(just so you can have an idea what you can make)
  4. Feel free to delete this world ##Getting Started
  5. Create a new world in survival (allow cheats if you want) make sure that you go into "More World Options..." and change world type to Middle-Earth.
  6. When your world loads up, you will be placed with the hobbits in Shire. Feel free to "loot" their houses for food and other starter materials.
  7. After getting some food and tools, I would look for a faction to settle with. (For more details of the factions look farther down this page)
  8. So by now you should be in your faction's territory and it is time for you to use all your minecraft skills. Build your base and you can start to mine to gather the much needed resources for the rest of the pack.
  9. Once you feel ready, there is dungeons that need to be raided for resources. ##Factions in Middle-Earth
  10. To gain relation with a faction you can complete mini-quests or kill the enemies of that faction.
  11. There are a lot of factions you can side with in Middle-Earth. For more details on the factions look here: Lotr Wiki
  12. Using the link above, You can find the biomes you might want to settle in.
  13. Most factions in Middle-Earth have custom armors and weapons. Plus troops that you may hire.
