also i found that when i load up a world, it just says its not responding and doesnt do anything and i would advise to put optifine in this modpack

The first thing to check is your version of java. I've found that this pack really doesn't like 32-bit, so be sure that you're using 64-bit. Other than that, send me the log file, or better yet, turn on show console in the launcher settings and see what the last few lines say when you start a world. Normally that tells you all you need to know.

Liar! There are 73 mods in the modpack, not 42. This modpack seemed like it would be nice, but it will not work.

Yes, some of the mods have several dependencies that are included in the same file for simplicity, so mods like Galacticraft are listed as a single mod here but show up as 3 in the client. Sorry it doesn't work for you, I tried to keep it fairly light while still having a lot of variety.
May I ask what specifically doesn't work? Perhaps I can make some changes that would help.
