AbyssalCraft is a mod centered around exploration, but with a growing magic influence. Another thing that has been getting more focus is influences from the works of H.P Lovecraft, adding even more evil to that which is already in the mod.
Enough about that, let's dig into the mod! The first thing you need in order to get started is a Necronomicon, crafted like in the picture below:

This is a magic mod that challenges the user to think of solutions to complex problems. At it's core is an innovative power system which is nearly impossible to fully optimize. All features are documented via an in-game book.

BiblioCraft is a storage and organizational mod that began as a single bookcase and has expanded to so much more.

This mod adds slopes and a custom variety of vanilla-inspired blocks to Minecraft. The custom nature of these blocks allows players to cover them using most solid blocks in the game. Once covered, they look and act just like the block they're mimicking, but in entirely new shapes! For example, make some obsidian stairs that are resistant to explosions; or, make glowstone take the shape of a pyramid top. With Carpenter's Blocks, building takes on new possibilities!

Cosmetic Armor is a simple mod that brings four additional armor slots to the Player's inventory. What's special about these four slots though is that any armor placed in them will only appear visually on the Player, and not affect the Player in any way. It allows for the usage of one armor piece (say, Boots of the Traveler) while still retaining the aesthetics brought by another.

This mod allows you to add custom npcs to your world and is mostly aimed at creative players who want more interactive worlds. If you have any question feel free to ask them add the Custom NPCs Thread, but be sure to read the Frequently Asked Questions first.

A reasonable way to enchant your items!

By default the vanilla potion id limit is 32, many mods extend that to 128 as that is still possible without changing much of the code. This mod goes further and allows you to make the id limit as high as you want, by default it is increased to 4096 which should really be enough for everyone^^. Obviously if you increase it to something really high you are going to notice a slight increase in memory usage. Also Potion ID conflicts generally go by unnoticed because they are not logged like other conflicts. This mod changes it so that conflicts are logged to console (Or the debug log if you so desire).

Forestry deals with farming, renewable energy production as well as the breeding of trees, bees and butterflies in Minecraft.

My intention with this mod was make Minecraft remain a challenge and to give it a more unique experience. Because I lack the skill in programming enhanced AI or equipment, I intended for this mod to add mobs and make the game harder while more powerful and well coded mods provide high-end enhancements to the player.

Growthcraft is a mod for Minecraft which aims to improve the agricultural or farming aspect of the game. Improvements added by the game include but are not limited to addition of unique crops and fun ingame-hobbies.

abba (Just Another Better Barrel Attempt) is focused on providing an affordable mass storage block.

The barrels are modular and can be upgraded to provide additionnal fonctions (redstone, hopper, etc) or provide more storage.

Jabba also provides a dolly used to move around other containers such as (but not limited to) chests, iron chests, BC tanks and more.

JourneyMap is a client+server mod for Forge which maps your Minecraft world in real-time as you explore. You can view the map in a web browser or in-game as a Minimap or full-screen.

LittleBlocks is a mod that allows you to polish up your creativity and optimize your redstone systems. Indeed, the size of blocks placed in a little blocks is divided by eight compared to its original size, so you can place 512 blocks instead of one

Magical Crops is mod that changes the way you gather and get resources, if you are bored of mining this is a perfect way of keeping your resources high, you can grow most Vanilla items and ores such as Iron ore, Lapis Lazuli and Bones. Also grow many types of mod ores/items, such as Copper, Tin, Lead and Certus Quartz.

This is an armour and weapon addon for magical crops core 4, it adds Accio, Crucio, Imperio and Zivicio armour, tools and weapons to the game. This used to be included in the main magical crops jar but to please more people magical crops is now modular so you can pick and choose the features you want.

Magic Bees is an addon for Forestry that adds integration with several magic-themed mods!

This contains shared code for Forge mods and is used by the Slime Knights. Descriptive book code and common inventories are found here.

MineTweaker allows you to customize your modpack or server with a simple scripting language. With a few instructions, you can add or remove recipes, change mod recipes, alter names, change furnace recipes, the ore dictionary, tooltips and many other things.

Natura is a mod that aims to spice up the world with interesting worldgen. With a few small additions, hunger no longer has to be about hunting animals early game. The mod is mostly intuitive; everything should be sensible or explained in-game.

Natura is a worldgen companion to Tinkers' Construct. The mod works well with ExtraBiomesXL and Biomes O' Plenty, but neither are necessary for the best experience.

This mod adds support for HD textures and a lot of options for better looks and performance. Doubling the FPS is common.

Tinkers' Construct is a mod about putting tools together in a wide variety of ways, then modifying them until they turn into something else. The tools never disappear and can be named and changed to your heart's desire. Once you make them, they're yours forever. Many different materials can be used to make your tools.

Waila (What Am I Looking At) is a UI improvement mod aimed at providing block information directly ingame, without the need of opening an UI.

It provides a small unobtrusive tooltip on top of the screen with informations about the block the player is looking at.

A powerful API is provided so other modders can add their own information relative to their blocks to it.

Bringing witchcraft and nature magic to Minecraft: cauldrons, broomsticks, ritual circles, magical brews, a bit of necromancy and voodoo for good measure; all topped off with a fetching pointy hat. Oh, and watch out for the demons...
