Welcome one and all to our final season of Shanghaied. Last season wasn't as successful as we'd hoped and sales in my souvenir shop fell dramatically. It appeared that our intrepid adventurers weren't entirely happy running out of air while exploring caves or plunging to their deaths when a seemingly stable cliff edge collapsed as they were trying to cross it. Who could have foreseen that? So we changed direction and managed to remove those aspects from our sponsors mod and only left the water drinking requirement to keep it interesting, for us that is. We've even made that a much simpler process but you'll be able to read all about it in our Disclaimer once you come on board. We've spent the entire off season refining our competition so that its bound to be almost bug free and worthy of any refined player giving it a second glance before moving on to see what else is on offer. Oh, and if you do decide to download our really tiny pack and even get around to playing it for more than a few minutes, you might get hooked and try to make it all the way through our grueling contest to become the first contestant ever to be awarded with a magnificent tin trophy, gold plated of course. It may be a little dusty but we almost certainly won't charge you extra if we decide to dust it off before giving it to you.
For our final season we've decided to retain the barren wastelands that has all the biomes that you'd expect to find in a regular minecraft world but without the accompanying flora and fauna. As always, each new biome you explore might contain unique ruins that cannot be found anywhere else so exploring extensively can bring great rewards along with the accompanying great dangers.
We've designed our competition in such a way that although you'll start with almost nothing, you will be able to gradually progress by completing well thought out challenges, provided you don't starve or die of thirst along the way. We understand that not everyone has mastered the art of finding shortcuts or even longcuts so we've included many hints and lots of advice in our quest book that we're sure you'll probably ignore, even if you don't know what you're doing. We call that the human condition and our audience just love watching adventurers flounder over a quest knowing that all they had to do was actually read it first. What a hoot.
Many adventurers remarked that they liked reading the hints and tips in our quest book and Disclaimer. Okay some did, or maybe it was just a few, but one contestant definitely remarked that one of the tips was actually helpful, but don't ask us which one it was as we haven't been able to decipher what we wrote as it was too cryptic and garbled for us to interpret.
The important thing is that you get started right away as other contestants may already be hard at it trying to get their grubby hands on the magnificent trophy that's been gathering more and more dust since we first started shanghaied. As this is our final ever season, we couldn't find anyone enthusiastic enough to give our trophy a wipe down with a damp rag, so if this hasn't got you fired up enough to compete in our ever diminishing competition, we don't know what will.
