What is RFK?
Rise and Fall Kingdoms is a Minecraft server with a systematized approach designed to simulate the intricate affairs of being part of and managing a faction or even a Kingdom. The goal of RFK is for players to accumulate all the True Power, a nominal resource in limited quantity, under one banner either as a commoner, vassal, or even as a ruler yourself. Custom mechanics separate RFK from typical factional servers such as:
True Power, the limited resource which serves as the lifeline to Kingdoms, allowing for only the few to have.
Multiple types of factions such as Clans, Houses, Guilds, Claimants, each with their own requirements, limitations, and powers.
Domestic Policies that rulers can take for their Kingdom; such as mercantilism vs laissez faire, aristocracy vs plutocracy, warlike vs peaceful, all which affect the entirety of the Kingdom in terms of playstyle.
Strategus, the IRL game board which Rulers use to plan out army movements, fief management, and ultimately make decisive actions which affect and translate into actual gameplay.
Server Battles, server organized events which have one massive player force against another, having variables such as army size which serves as a lifepool, types of battles such as skirmishes, pitched battles, and sieges, all of which the actual results return back into Strategus.
Rebellions and Coups, ways for a common person in vassalship to wrestle control away oppressive, derelict, and/or incompetent rulers.
Lore, not in the sense of a background dictated by one person alone, but instead lore formed around the very actions that players make, written by the players themselves, treating lore instead as a history rather than a fantastical concept.
Crowning and Kingship, through the actions of the player themselves and their supporting parties, rather than a predefined choice by an admin.
Along with our systematized approach for medievalism, we also have several mods which enhance the visual, auditory, and combative experience that one may enjoy to the fullest as a vanilla enhancement rather than a complete overhaul.
Player vs Player, or more accurately in this case Factions vs Factions, is highly emphasized in RFK. PVP will be rampant as you may encounter invaders who cross the border to take what is rightfully yours. Band together with your own Kingdom members in order to fend them off and launch cooperative attacks on other Kingdoms! Griefing is against the rules in RFK, so you won't need to worry about your houses becoming marred by malicious destroyers, but keep an eye out as certain forms of raiding will still exist as well! Everything will take place on a custom map which is 5000x7000 so encounters, friendly and unfriendly, will be frequent!
So who are we looking for? We're looking for those interested in a Minecraft experience involving the intricate affairs between Kingdoms, Houses, Guilds, and Clans, or for those who simply enjoy the medieval experience.
If you fancy yourself a leader, RFK IS the server for you, as RFK rewards those that rally others around them to take what they need for themselves, whether as a Guild Master, Clan Chief, an elevated Noble, or even as a Ruler.
If you dislike leading out, fear not because RFK still has a huge portion of things that you can do as well! Enjoy doing politics as one of the mass and give your feedback to further improve the Kingdom, help with the building of villages, homes, castles of defense, or otherwise assist your fellow members of a Kingdom, fight as a soldier for the defense, or conquest of others, or even become a scribe and write down "history"/lore for everyone to see and appreciate!
