Understanding builds:
maj.min.rel
maj = major build number
ex. for MC 1.7.10 builds, ver = 1
ex. for MC 1.8.x future builds, ver = 2
min = minor build number
Increments when a mod is added, removed, or substantially changed within the pack
rel = release version
Increments upon release within a maj+min build. Typical use case are for mod updates with build fixes or new features within the same mod. A release version ending in a letter indicates only minor configuration file changes within the release, and all mods remained at the same version.
