Install JPLand Modpack

Step 1

Installing a modpack using the Technic Launcher is easy. If you don't already have the launcher downloaded, visit our download page to get the latest version.

Step 2

Type in the modpack name (JPLand Modpack) or paste the following url into the search box.

Step 3

Finally, click Install at the bottom right of the launcher after you select JPLand Modpack from the list on the left. The launcher will handle everything else!

JPLand Modpack Version 2.3.1

created by ledlamp on Minecraft 1.12.2

This is the modpack that you'll need to join the JPLand Modded server. To use it, just download the Technic launcher, launch it and log in with your Mojang account, select the Modpacks tab, type in JPLand Modpack, select it and click Install. Download progress will go extremely negative and it may take a while to download; this is normal.

Before starting the game, make sure you have the launcher configured to allocate at least 2.5GB of memory to Java or you may have problems. Click Launcher options in the upper right corner, and select the Java Settings tab.

Click Play to start the game. It may take a while to load; be patient. Once the game is ready, connect to the server at modded.mc.jpdld.com.

Manual Installation

If for whatever reason you do not wish to use Technic launcher, you may manually install the modpack to your vanilla profile and use it with the vanilla launcher. Download the modpack here. The zip contains a modpack.jar which is the Minecraft Forge jar that needs to be merged into your minecraft.jar (unzip both, copy classes into the latter, zip back up); however you will probably prefer to use the Forge installer (use the recommended version for 1.12.2). Copy the mods folder from the zip into your Minecraft data directory.

How to migrate data from vanilla launcher to Technic launcher

You may want to switch to Technic launcher when the modpack updates, but this means you'll start with a fresh profile and will loose your minimap waypoints and other configurations. So you'll just need to copy your configuration over to the Technic profile: First open a file manager window and navigate to your Minecraft profile (%appdata%\.minecraft on Windows), OR wherever you configured as the game directory, if you did. Then open another window and navigate to your JPLand Technic profile (%appdata%\.technic\modpacks\jpland-modpack on Windows). Move or copy over the config folder (mod configurations), options.txt (vanilla settings), optionsof.txt (optifine settings), and/or servers.dat (server list), as desired.
