Galaxy Odyssey Version 2.41.1923

created by AstroTibs on Minecraft 1.7.10

Galaxy Odyssey updated to version 2.30.17.20

Initial Version 2 release!

Version 2 of the modpack is characterized by three major changes:

Ambience: the previous ambient sound from Dynamic Surroundings has been replaced by a new MAtmos ambience system.

Collectibles: You can now find, collect, and trade a full set of Triple Triad cards based on the creatures in Galaxy Odyssey!

Setup: The nearly entire replacement of ModDirector with MCInstance Loader as the framework that downloads content (i.e. other mods) for the pack.

Here are some of the highlights and notes about the MCInstance Loader changeover:

1. IMPORTANT: the /mods-carryover folder is now deprecated. MCIL has created a new /carryover folder. Please use a /mods and /config folders respectively inside the /carryover folder.
2. There are now mod choices when installing the pack! When GO is installed or updated, you will be given a prompt screen to select your choice of versions of a few mods, with explanations for what the differences are; and another prompt screen with choices for fully optional mods!
3. No more crash during first installation! ModDirector attempts to automatically insert every mod into launch automatically on download, which causes a crash due to an unavoidable race condition. MCIL instead prompts you to re-launch the pack after your optional choices screen, more elegantly avoiding this issue.
4. Mod downloads are now cached! MCIL downloads all specified files as caches, and then copies them to the correct directories. While this takes up extra disk space, it means that MCIL no longer has to re-download mods if you update the pack in-place.
5. The mod download manifest is now handled by a single file, rather than individual files for each mod (like how ModDirector does it). This means that when a mod is removed from the pack, it doesn't permanently leave behind a defunct download script.
6. You can now remove mods from the /mods folder, for example if you wanted to test something, without the pack re-inserting the mod on launch. Mods will only be replaced during pack updates, and will only re-download if different (see point 2).
7. MCIL recognizes which mods are client- or server-side only based on installation. I still recommend you use the server_prep file though, just to be safe.

Currently, resourcepack acquisition is still handled by ModDirector. There are plans to update MCIL to add this functionality, at which time ModDirector will be fully phased out of the pack.

Of course, there are many other things that changed in V2, too:

* IMPORTANT! Your fridges, racks, and other blocks from Cooking For Blockheads will disappear. Please empty their contents into a safe place before updating the pack!
* IMPORTANT! Your BetterVanilla colored beds will disappear in a future update! Please craft them into Et Futurum Requiem versions.
* As per the above, villages now spawn with EFR beds instead of BV beds
* Crafting a mixed-wool bed should make a white bed instead of a red one
* Fixed server_prep and server_prep_and_launch scripts
* Rejoice! Mekanism's Wind Generators are finally available to craft!
* Most Nether biomes count as "dirty" when drinking standing water (if you can find any!)
* Disabled Vampire leveling as a player. You can still be a level 1 vampire for the buff of near-immortality.
* Poison Dart Frogs can now drop Toe of Frog
* Werewolf players can't infect other players with lycanthropy
* Removed JAFFA soda recipes
* Renamed Stained Clay Illusion blocks to Terracotta Illusion

* Re-enabled Flying Spider, Flying Cave Spider, Flying Silverfish, and Spitfire Skeleton variants
* Disabled Mini Ghast and Small Spider variants
* Disabled random size scaling for Special Mobs variants
* Reduced chance of non-vanilla skeletons
* Disabled abyssal geodes, because they were ugly. Abyssal stone can now be obtained in EnviroMine's Deep Caves.
* The Smithing Table recipe now produces the Et Futurum Requiem version instead of NetheritePlus+
* You can craft the NetheritePlus+ version of the Smithing Table into the EFR version
* Added meat drops to Biomes o'Plenty Bird, and WildMobs Jellyfish
* Willow vines can no longer drop grapes
* Disabled Dynamic Surroundings's Aurora and biome sounds, because they were causing the game to crash when going to other planets. Now, MAtmos provides ambient biome sounds (see below)
