You can do it yourself by going to modpack options in the launcher, then clicking open install folder, and finally putting the mod you would like to add to it into the mods folder.

Inability to use vanilla tools isn't a mistake it's intentional and the default setting for Iguana's Tinker Tweaks. Your first day isn't just about punching wood it's about punching wood and gravel. 3 gravel in a crafting grid gets you a flint. As Rhoderzz mentioned below, use flint tools until they level up then mine aluminum and cooper. I also believe the config is set to allow creation of obsidian in the smeltry with water and lava so once you have iron you can easily get Alumenium which is will get you to the Nether where you can get Ardite and then Cobalt. Mani is fine for weapons but tool heads of Cobalt are the best IMO due to mining spead.

Earl_Graye Do you think that you can fix the thing where you can't use vanilla pickaxes, axes and shovels? Because you can't get anywhere, unless you are in creative mode. So please fix that, because I really like this mod :)

it does have different pickaxes

This isn't an issue it's intentional and the default setting for Iguana's Tinker Tweaks. Rather than just punch wood you should spend your first day punching gravel as well. Placing 3 gravel in a crafting grid will give you flint. You use the wood to make the Tinker's Construct tables and some stencils. Use the flint to make your initial tools. I'd recommend leveling those up before upgrading them to higher durability materials because the lower tier tools level up faster.

hey this is the modpack i just been looking for. Its simply medieval all right. i love how you can lvl up your tinker tools and weapons i think its awesome. just one thing. its SUPER annoying how you craft vanilla tools and cant use them but only for crafting! only way to mine and dig stuff is to go though all the tinkers basics ok i can live with that. but u cant make a shovel or pickaxe, etc made of wood or cobble! how am i supose to do anything? took me a long time to find out that u suppose to make flint tools! LEAVE A NOTE ON THAT! i bet thats why loads of ppl dont like this modpack becasue they didnt find this out! (hint hint)

But flint pickaxes can only mine stone, and not iron, so you can't upgrade to better pickaxes :/
WilliamXDB WilliamXDB ·
YES i noticed that there is NO way u can get iron! or gold etc so its broken! He/She really needs to fix that.
OkamiBuredo OkamiBuredo ·
But I think if you find iron ingots in, for example a village, you can smelt it down in a smeltery and pour it out in a pickaxe cast or something.
WilliamXDB WilliamXDB ·
yeah but inorder to make iron tools weapons u need 8 gold just to make a cast then then u need like just 3 diffrent cast to make a pick so yeah u wont be finding gold just laying on the ground
OkamiBuredo OkamiBuredo ·
Dungeons, villages, etc?
WilliamXDB WilliamXDB ·
What you have to do is use the flint tools until a text saying something like "A flash of light comes from your pickaxe! +1 Mining Level." This means you can mine Aluminum and Copper, which you need a smeltery to smelt down. First make Aluminum-Brass to make casts which is 3 Aluminum and 1 Copper for 1 unit (I think it's like 4 ingots). Make a stone pickaxe head, tool binding and tool rod and make a cast around and it place the Aluminum-Brass around it. After you have casts make copper tools and mine until you up mining level again. It's grindy but it adds a difficulty and not just incredibly easy levelling up for tools. I hope this helps!
Rhoderzz Rhoderzz ·
You don't need gold to make casts. Aluminum Brass accomplishes the same thing and a flint pickaxe will mine both the copper and aluminum needed. Additionally, you don't need to make 3 casts so that you can create a pickaxe. Just make a cast for the head and replace the head on your current flint pick on the tool table. You can even substitute string for the binding.

I will take a look at it. Recently I've been working on an Adventure map to go along with the pack. You start out shipwrecked on an island and don't know how to swim (you have to play along with that premise). You parkour across a lava filled gorge to find an Ancient Warfare trader who will get you started with Tinker's (pickaxe, shovel, and mattock). You can use those tools to harvest from the trader's island or harvest part of the wrecked ship to build a boat which will get you to another island where you have to overthrow an evil king. The trader there will teach you to swim and give you the location of the master tinker. Ultimate goal will be to locate the pirates who shanghaied you and left you to fend for yourself after they wrecked the ship.

I really like this! You should add Archimede's Ships

Though I have admittedly not tried Archimede's Ships in awhile, last time I did there were problems with blocks from other mods not being recognized as part of the ship. Tinker's ladders, Carpentry Blocks for angled lines, etc.
