Launcher Version 4.205 Is Live

The Technic Launcher v4.205 is now promoted to stable, and you will download it the next time you run your launcher locally. This version of the launcher includes a fix to ensure that only the Technic Platform version of pack art is used. Previously, there was a bug which caused Solder icons to be used where available, and in some rare cases, other Solder-hosted art assets would be used as well. This completes an arc of changes that began a couple days ago, in which we've moved to only using Platform-hosted art assets for all Technic packs, for both the website and the launcher. If you are a pack author who uses Solder, this should reduce your hosting bills somewhat, as well as make the process of developing art assets for your Platform pack more straightforward. If you have a Solder server, we recommend that you continue to host art assets on it, for the benefit of other launchers with Solder support, such as MultiMC.

If you are a pack author who is hosting your pack on Solder, we highly recommend that you develop and upload pack art in the new dimensions to the Platform ASAP. Packs with art not only look better and get more attention, they're also eligible to be selected by our algorithm to appear in the "trending packs" list in the Technic Launcher. Being on this list can bring literally thousands of potential users to your landing page, so it's a pretty big deal!

As you no doubt notice, several changes have gone live in the four days since Technic Launcher v4 was first available. Chiefly, these changes have consisted of caching improvements to reduce load on our website and everyone's Solder. Some improvements have also been made to the way the launcher reacts when certain web services are unavailable. Lastly, we snuck in a single fix to the way the launcher downloads assets for older versions of Minecraft, which should fix an issue in which some users were not hearing sounds in older packs.

We hope you enjoy the new Platform, and we'll continue to keep you up to date about improvements to the site and the Launcher. We're still working to improve performance on the website, which today will include some major upgrades to our server hardware, so hang tight!

NOT STABLE! Doen't work on Mac "could not be started", no Modpack beside the "Test Pack ignore it" and it takes forever to bring an update live... really, just bring the old launcher back and all should be good as before.

how do i get the launcher to work on OSX because when the things done downloading and i click it (I've try'd it 8 times) and then a thing shows up and i press ''open'' and NOTHING happens at all :(

Can't play offline with new launcher. Anyone else having this problem? When offline, the launcher thinks all the games need updates (green up arrows). Asks if I want to update. "No". Then fails for trying to download an FML file.

Someone help, i am on a Mac OX S Yostmite and my technic launcher says that this application "Technic" can't be opened. someone plz help i really love this launcher. Plz someone help. Thanks Walrus

this version is very problematic for many reasons 1) you cant add any new mod packs because there is no option for add new pack 2) the website is very laggy and just takes ages to load

You can either search for one you know in the launcher or you browse the website find one that you like and then click it then in the top right it should say INSTALL THIS MODPACK click it then your launcher should load with it and then press play and download either one it will download and then after its downloaded click play then enjoy hope this helps :) if you need any help let me know

m still not able to open any modpacks. It loads up for about 3 minutes and then it closes the modpack and opens the launcher again. Im getting really mad now.

I can help you with that one Basicly the mod pack is running a mod that is not compatible with the mod pack minecraft version if it is your own modpack then make sure all mods are compatible with the forge version or what ever mod loader your using and make sure they are compatible with the minecraft version of the modpack if it isn't your own modpack contact the modpack owner to fix the problem tell them to do what I just said

Is there anyway to allocate more RAM to packs in the new launcher. I can't find anyway so if anyone knows how then that would be great.

Sure, in the launcher there should be launcher options press that press the second button on the menu and then change the RAM if you need any help let me know

Hello. I can't logginto the Forum. When i try to log in it says Wrong pass, when i click on request new pass it says unknown user and when i try to make a new ACC it says that it already egsits . I can only loggon onto the technicpack.net Website. Please help me . I want to post in the Forum the bug , that under modpacks i cant add http://stili.mfw-control.de/stilispack/Modpack.zip as to modpacklocation.
