v3.13.0 is the biggest Platform update in a very long time, and there's a lot to unpack — so let's get into it.
Everything looks different
You've probably already noticed. The entire site got a visual refresh — buttons, forms, modals, navigation, dropdowns — all of it. The old design was showing its age, so we moved everything to a modern framework that looks better and behaves much better on phones and tablets.
The modpack list got a new layout that handles different screen sizes more gracefully. No more weird gaps or overlapping cards when you resize your browser.
Modpack pages got some love
Modpack pages now feature a redesigned hero section at the top — a glass-overlay effect over your modpack's background image with a smooth gradient. It's a subtle change but it makes modpack pages feel a lot more polished.
Comments across the site also got a visual cleanup, and are now capped at two levels of nesting. Deeply nested threads were getting hard to follow, so we set a limit to keep conversations readable.
The Solder settings page also got a usability overhaul — if you connect your modpack to a Solder instance, that whole experience should feel a lot less clunky now.
Small things that make a big difference
Some of the best changes are the ones you almost don't notice:
- Timestamp tooltips — hover over any timestamp on the site and you'll see the date and time in your local timezone. No more doing timezone math in your head.
- YouTube URLs — you no longer need to include
www.in YouTube URLs when setting up your modpack. Both formats just work now. - Discord widget — the old Discord widget in modpack sidebars was slow and heavy. It's been replaced with a compact card that loads instantly.
- Minecraft versions — new Minecraft versions are now enabled by default when Mojang releases them. No more waiting for someone to manually flip a switch.
- User profiles — the "rated" stat that nobody understood has been replaced with your modpack count. Much more useful.
Security and stability
We fixed several security bugs in this release — CSRF protection gaps, an open redirect, XSS vectors, and a few other things. Banned users can no longer slip through the login page, and suspension messages are now clearer about what happened.
We also did a pass on every external link across the site and replaced dead or suspicious ones with working alternatives. Pages with lots of data load faster thanks to smarter queries and database indexing.
Keeping things clean
We've added new tools behind the scenes to help us deal with spam more effectively. If you've noticed fewer junk modpacks lately, that's why. We're committed to keeping the platform a useful place to find and share modpacks.
Under the hood
There was also a massive internal overhaul — a rebuilt admin panel, new tooling that catches bugs before they reach production, a complete icon library migration, a switch to privacy-friendly fonts, and a whole lot of new tests. The classic teaser pages (Blightfall, Legends) were brought up to speed with the rest of the site too.
The kind of spring cleaning where you find stuff behind the couch you forgot existed.
If you run into anything weird or something that used to work is now broken, let us know on Discord. The full list of changes is on the changelog.
