I used to wonder why the Magic World series was never updated to include Botania. So I stopped sitting around wondering and did it myself.
There are, admittedly, some mods that don't necessarily revolve around magic in this pack. One of them is Tinkers Construct. But one thing I learned while playing on Magic World 2 servers was that it's hard to mine out ores by hand, so I thought having some more advanced tools (and cool weapons) would help.
Another thing people would complain about on the old servers was that they kept losing thier experience every time they died. I decided to fix that with Open Blocks. It's important to have a lot of experience on hand with the Enchanting Plus mod, which really simplifies enchanting.
The last thing I noticed on the old servers was that people kept asking, "How do I fly?" So I decided to add Morph. After all, shape-shifting is a form of magic, right?
But the real meat and potatoes of the modpack are the magic mods. There are five main brances of magic: Thaumcraft, Blood Magic, Botania, Ars Magica 2, and Witchery. Under Thaumcraft are Thaumic Tinkers and Forbidden magic, and of course Thaumcraft ties into many of the other branches of magic. That should provide enough sorcery, spells, rites, and rituals to last a Mages lifetime. So what are you waiting for? Go cast some magic of your own!
