It's funny how using Smart Moving in the water (swimming on the surface of the water) it makes the old minecraft water sounds. (when you're "hopping" around on the surface of the water) XD

Dropbox works fine for me and my 80+ mod modpack. you gotta make sure you change the "0" at the end to a "1", else it wont install right. If you'd like any assistance, I'm willing to help. I need the experience if I ever plan to catch up to the more well known minecrafters.
Example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4hkk2ck3yhy0dvd/UCT%20Adventures.zip?dl=0
UCT Adventures is the Zipped File (use 7zip, it's free) and the end is by default, dl=1. Change it to dl=0 so it will automatically be downloaded, otherwise the link breaks because the dl=1 value takes you to a dropbox page where you can manually download the pack.

I think you got it backwards, the DL needs to be set to 1 that is what I do with my modpack. Works every time. The default is DL=0

The link isn't the problem, it is the download limit for my Dropbox that is the problem.

I assume you just copy the download link dropbox gives you? To (probably) fix your problem, change the last "0" on the link to a "1" that forces it to be a download link and not a link to dropbox.

It doesn't force authors to use a handpicked set of places where to host their packs for public download.
So by design authors will on occasion make the wrong choice and put their packs somewhere only them or only a set of people can get it, or simply an unreliable place. In effect, authors seem good at throwing together a bunch of mods and mash the 'put on Technic' button, but not very good at testing if anything they did ever worked for anyone. So malfunction happens a lot.
But I wouldn't call it something wrong with the downloading system. I would call it something wrong with the publishing, discovery and reporting systems. And with authors too.
So as to end with some kind of helpful hint: it works flawlessly on Google Drive and whatever the Microsoft's one is called these days, if you put the files in "public" section. Also, for once, it is a good idea to not try Mega as the encryption system gets in the way.

For everyone stating the download doesn't work. Please check the overview (first few lines at very top) as to exactly why the download wont work. He is trying to fix it, just give him some time.
