Install Viper-Craft Galaxy

Step 1

Installing a modpack using the Technic Launcher is easy. If you don't already have the launcher downloaded, visit our download page to get the latest version.

Step 2

Type in the modpack name (Viper-Craft Galaxy) or paste the following url into the search box.

Step 3

Finally, click Install at the bottom right of the launcher after you select Viper-Craft Galaxy from the list on the left. The launcher will handle everything else!

This update focuses mainly on ProjectE, the details are listed below;

We now include a custom permissions file for Forge Essentials that sets the ProjectE access, by default, to OP Only. There was a security issue where some players, in custom groups, were able to execute ProjectE commands and change/set EMC values for items.

This update also adds EMC values for several Railcraft items including creosote, steel ingots, reinforced iron ingots, and many track components. It also adds, via automatic calculations, EMC values for most Railcraft tracks. It's our hope this update will aid those looking to make complex rail systems, removing the requirement to "grind" complex rail recipes over and over again.

There were several recipe changes in this patch to fix issues players were having. Those changes were as follows.

- Metal Block to Diamond, via exchange orb, now gives only 2 diamonds.
- Lapis Shard recipe now requires a specified recipe.
- Lapis Nugget recipe now requires a specified recipe.

NOTES ON RECIPE CHANGES:

The shapeless Lapis Nugget recipe from inventory pets overwrote the shapeless Lapis Shard recipe from Solar Expansion. As such, you could not build solar panels from the Solar Expansion mod. To remedy this situation we removed both shapeless recipes and created a shaped recipe for each. The recipes still require the same material, but placed a certain way in the crafting table. You can find the new recipes by looking them up in the inventory NEI search.

The custom recipes we added to allow the conversion of Railcraft metal blocks into Diamonds introduced an exploit when ProjectE was reintroduced to the mod pack. This exploit allowed players to convert blocks into diamonds for extra EMC. The process was as followed;

- Save a Tin Block to a transmutation table.
- Create Tin Blocks from the transmutation table.
- Convert the Tin Blocks to Diamonds using the exchange orb.
- Put the Diamonds back into the transmutation table.
- Repeat

Each time this process was done, the individual would gain an additional percentage in EMC. As an example, for 1 stack of Tin Blocks you would make over 200 thousand extra EMC once they were returned to the table as diamonds. To correct this we adjusted all 4 of the metal-to-diamond recipes to give only 2 diamonds instead of Tin giving 3 and Aluminum giving 4. While still unbalanced where EMC is concerned, this will remove the exploit.

This update is fairly huge, larger than I thought it was going to be, and so a new VCG version (1.6) has been issued. Below are the changes that took place in this mod, but first...

Some mod authors now require source libraries, which were once included as part of their main mods, and as such these new libraries will be listed in the "updated mods" category. They may not appear immediately on the "permissions" page, however permissions for the use of all new libraries were granted.

This update has been tested with an existing VCG 1.5.0 world and has been found to not cause problems. That said, we can not guarentee this update won't damage already existing worlds. It's STRONGLY suggested you save your existing worlds before updating!

- You will see a lot of console messages about the world being repaired by Thaumcraft, this is normal.

- During the first startup of 1.4.0 you will be asked to remove all non-existing objects, you MUST agree to this (/fml confirm) or your world will be broken. Most professional server hosts will DENY this automatically, so discuss this with your host BEFORE you update the server.

- You must never edit the "Regen" section of the Thaumcraft 4 config.

- Edges of your current world will NOT match newly generated world.

This patch should fix several issues that were occurring;

- EnderIO Auto-Crafter crash with Blueberries: Installed the latest Beta version of EnderIO which reportedly fixes this issue, but as it's a beta it may introduce other unreported bugs.

- Wither Skeletons Not Spawning: Adjusted config files for JAS to correct broken spawns, but this may also result in some creatures spawning in weird locations (such as birds in caves) and the Cursed Earth not functioning as a mob spawner.

- Wither Skeletons Rarely Drop Skulls & Bones: Added recipes to craft wither skulls and necrotic bones using regular skulls, bones, and other items.

- Added recipes to the Exchange Orb to allow the trading of Tin, Copper, Silver, and Lead blocks for Diamonds (which can then be traded for other materials).

We've removed ProjectE from this build, as we've considered it to be pretty overpowered. We've also activated Biomes of Plenty as a default in the server configuration. To add a more variety we've included DoggyStyle, to bring a more realistic look to dogs. We've also included Immersive Engineering to bring a more realistic feel to power generation, and Mr Cray's Furniture Mod to bring more furniture to your homes.

In this update we've added OPIS, a server monitoring utility that comes pre-packaged with MapWriter - an alternative to JourneyMap. You're free to use whichever map you prefer. You'll need to configure your keybindings in the Minecraft Config screen. Under MapWriter, you'll probably want to change the key binding settings for 'Next map mode' and 'Open map GUI' at the very least. Press ESC if you want to clear the keybindings completely.

We've also updated Forestry, Binnie's Mods, IC2, WAILA and NEI to their latest versions. Let us know if you encounter any bugs!
