Don't eat yellow snow, I know it's hard to resist, but don't. And I know it looks so lemony, so fragrant, so juicy and exotic. But seriously, don't eat the snow. I don't know how many times I have to tell people this. People just never seem to understand how much trouble they will go through if they eat that yellow snow. Not to say that I have eaten yellow snow, but it doesn't taste as good as you would think. To describe the taste I would say a little salty, of course it is a nice savoury snack if you were stranded, but you do have to be careful of where the yellow snow comes from. Hearing from an avid yellow snow testing friend, not me, I would recommend that you look at the color and texture of the snow. Freshness comes in many forms, dark colors often mean that is has been aged, eating this with some wine will do just fine. This, though, is considered by some a disgusting act, and is a highly disputed christmas within the yellow snow tasting community. Lightly yellow will do as a nice refreshing bite of taste, often considered quite delicacy by some, whom we do not speak of. Normal bright yellow on the other hand is a perfect treat for any new yellow snow taster. It is a mix of the light yellow refreshing taste and the dark aged funky taste, so the bright yellow snow, per se, is the finest choice of them all. Now there might be smaller alterations in the color, but those are the main ones. Now, let's talk about diet and creature. Yellow snow can taste very different depending on the species of animal that has interacted with the snow. My friend, not me, recommends dog snow to be the best tasting of all common yellow snow. To identify the animal you must take a whiff of the snow. A smell guide will be included in part 2 of the yellow snow tasting tutorial. Now, a short guide on brewing your own yellow snow. Step 1. drink a lot of water. It is important that you drink an overabudance of any liquid, water is recommended, but any liquid will do. Step 2. wait. Patience is key to brewing perfect yellow snow, just wait. Step 3. find the perfect snow. It is important that you find the perfect consistency and texture of snow, some rocks in there will add to the taste. Step 4. piss in the snow. Now it is very important that you aim, and for the ladies reading this; I recommend putting the snow in a bucket and doing your private business in that. 5. serve. This will go good with a glass of wine or any kind of cheese, though I recommend a sweet cheese. Now quality of yellow snow depends on many things, but the main things are P. Piss Quality I. Integrity of snow S. Saltiness S. Sweetness. When rating yellow snow, you must give each letter of the PISS model a rating from 1-5. After doing that, you can also sum up the score. This is the overall piss score, I for one make piss of score 20. It is also recommended that you mare sure the temperature is right when consuming yellow snow. If you like it warm, then I recommend a nice temperature of 37 degrees, this will go good if you need a quick way to heat up the body. Now you can also make several dishes out of yellow snow. One is basting a nice steak with rosemary, butter, thyme and of course, the yellow snow. It will bring out the nice taste of the steak, and you won't even need to season it. You can also try marinating any type of meat, and then giving it a nice sous vide until medium rare (cooked if chicken or any other poultry). You can also make a nice yellow savoury soup, just put in some vegetables, some spices, and the yellow snow, and you will have a perfect savoury soup. If you are feeling a little exotic, then you could also try a fruit juice, using the yellow snow as the liquid.
But seriously, don't eat the yellow snow unless you absolutely have to. - Smokey
