Hale, can you comment the link to the java 1.8 download? I am for some reason unable to get it.

this should take you to the java page just need to click "free java download" it should give instrucktions on how to install after downloading tho usualy with windows dubbleclick the exe or dowloaded file and it should automaticly install it
It still says I do not have the latest version, even after downloading that.
http://forums.technicpack.net/topic/146359-1710-fairy-tail-woooow-official-server/ is the official server thread. I do check it more than I check this.

This was in an earlier version of the pack and has since been removed. Players use Skype or the Mumble server.

So i kind of figured out how to download it but when I click the link when you hover over "Install this modpack" It just says "status": 401,
"error": "Request Unauthorized
i am kind of confused: are you trying to download the mod pack from the web or with a launcher, if via web where did you download it from ?
ok so far so good in advanced menu of the firewall set incoming rules for the technic launcher and checked that the launcher is in the alowedlist of my firewall apps.
i get as far as the multiplayer menu and the server shows as active [example 8/30 players online,compatable FML moded server active green tick name shows too] but when i hit connect to server it starts loading in ... and after 5 - 20 min aprox states :lost connection timed out and lest me go back to the multiplayer menu, seems the client is trying to connect and cant find the server even tho the multiplayer menu states the server is found !!!

I tried changing your login location. Furthermore, if you have any minimap mods uninstall them.
dont have any minimap mods installed as i used the installation from my win7 pc and copyed it to my win8 disc but the relocation didnt help still get the "connection lost timed out" problem.sry
ps what would i consider minimap mods only ones i can think of are zans, voxelmods - voxelmap
Ok! managed to log on yesterday after hitting join server got the conect lost 4 times and on the 5th it connected then was on 10 min got kicked and couldnt get back in :(, even tryed a launcher restart didnt conect
well Hale why does the version need 1.8 Java? Friends and others told me in Java 1.8 is a Virus.... so I dont understand why it need Java 1.8 could you explain why? Ty^^

It is beyond me why your friends would say that Java 1.8 is a virus. Provided you get the update from the official Java website you won't get a virus. Java 1.8 is required because some of the mods have better compatibility with it, it is more efficient, and in order to provide optimal performance Java 1.8 is better overall for the modpack.
HALESTORM I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THIS MODPACK FOR MONTHS. I TRY AND TRY BUT I CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really don't understand what your problem is. From what it sounds like is that you can't download the pack. However if you have the Technic Launcher and copy the ink that is generated when you click the Install This Modpack link into the Launcher search bar it should pop right up.
i sayd the same thing a few post down even a specific description on how to install via launcer but have the feeling he/she cant even download the launcher
The Technic Launcher has been updated and this pack has had minimum requirements already set on it from when the Launcher update was scheduled to hit. So if you see error messages when you are trying to install the pack warning you that your Java Version is outdated or you have not allocated enough memory. This is NOT an error. This is the intention of the pack.

there selfrepared the scala problem by copying the nessesary files from a nother launcher and it worked now i just need to figure out why i keep getting a "conection lost" after i hit start in the mc menu and or a "cant find server" error
