- Welcome to the Next Big Thing! -

The Next Big Thing Pack is one of the few Minecraft 1.6.4 modpacks. We have the finest, most stable mods included. Elements of magic, industry, agriculture, and building are all prevalent in the pack. This pack is used on the whitelisted server Mindbend, and is currently a work-in-progress, so expect updates soon!

Upon starting your world, you are thrown into a land of strange and mysterious things. Craft your very own spells with Ars Magica 2, and become a master spellcaster. You can undertake the gruesome art of blood magic. Gruesome. Probably. Worth it? Definitely! You can make yourself powerful sigils, or summon demons to wreak havoc upon Minecraftia. Just a prick of the finger will suffice... Of course, if killing yourself a few dozen times over some powerful tools isn't your thing, you can roam the world, sucking up aura nodes in Thaumcraft 4! You can make all sorts of gadgets that perfrom tasks very well. They also look good, and that's just as important as working in the first place, but with all good things, there are many side-affects to these forbidden arts...

Forestry is the flagship mod of farming. With hundreds of different combinations of Bees you can breed, you will be an Apirarist for quite some time. With extra bees included, multiply that by a hundred. Bees can do anything. They can make oil, iridium, diamonds, and even dragon eggs! They can even make new trees for you to experiment and build with. IC2 also includes an underused feature, crossbreeding, It is a complicated, long, and frustrating process, but it's worth it. Anything is worth it for a nearly infinite supply of resources... Just make sure you have a good supply of Weed-EX.

With Gregtech installed, everything is significantly harder to make. You need sixteen steel to make a generator. Industrial Craft is not the same as you're used to either. We are running IC2 Experiments, commonly abbreviated as IC2x, so everything is different. You will spend hours tinkering with your Applied Energistics Autocrafting system, trying to get it just right so it can easily process the ores from your dozens of quarries. After accumulating “so many resources I can’t use them quick enough,” you can begin construction of your fusion reactor. It is the most expensive, most rewarding, and best looking achievement all of Minecraft. It took so long to get to this point, and you still aren’t done with what the pack has to offer. The final stage in any pack is to... Brag about your base. So, what are you waiting for? Get the pack, and feed your pets, because you are not going to want to do anything but play Minecraft for a long, long time.

Leave a +1 for one of the first working 1.6.4 packs!
