How To Install Packs

Hello!

We hope that you're enjoying the new launcher and platform, but some users have been a bit confused about how to install packs now. There's no big "Add A Pack" button in the launcher, and that's causing some confusion. Over the next couple days, we'll be improving the way the launcher directs you to install new packs, but in the meantime, here are the three ways that you can install a modpack on the Technic Launcher.

Search For It

The search bar on the left side of the launcher can be used to find the packs your heart desires. Just put a single term and the best packs of the platform that match will be brought to your launcher. Don't see what you want? Click the "Find more" link at the bottom to see more results, and use the second installation method.

Install From the Platform

Are you already at the Platform page for the pack you want? With your launcher open, click "Install This Modpack". It will be added to your Launcher! It's magic.

Or, If All Else Fails

Just about anything can be put into the search bar, and the launcher will do its absolute best to turn that into an installed pack. Got a Platform API link? That'll work. Almost anything will work, and we hope you'll use this advice to try out lots of packs you haven't seen before. Have you seen Trending Modpacks? You can see it by selecting Browse Modpacks from the Discover menu at the top of the Platform, and it's a great way to discover cool packs you haven't heard of before. It changes all the time!

So enjoy the new Platform and give the new launcher a spin.

I clicked "install" On both the launcher and the website, nothing happens. Can somebody help me out?

I can find modpacks, but when i click play. the launcher closes and then reopens. how do i get it to play minecraft?!

Still don't get it! Instead of the button Install A modpack it says Copy URL. And when I go to the URL it just says Error. I dont know what to do!

This launcher is crap and completely un-user friendly everytime I try to add my mod pack it gives me broken api link...... I have tried the search and thats what it tells me and I have even tried the install pack button on site but it doesn't do anything....

I tried doing this with the Realm of Mianite Modpack (IE the only reason why I have this.) And I used the API link into the search bar (as the download info said on the actual page for downloading) but it is saying that it isn't there, and that there is no way to install it from the modpack area. Can you help me out a bit on this? Please and thank you C:

I give my friends the url and when they press play it brings them back the the modpack menu

I do not know what's going on, but when I click to install modpack get an error that says "plantform URL copied to clipboard" but when I go to my technic doesn't appear the modpack ,if anyone knows how to fix the error ,help me please

I hate the new launcher, I keep trying to use the install this mudpack button I has not worked once and some of the mods I look up using the browser never show up hope this mess of a launcher is fixed soon!

Impossible to install new modpacks. Modpacks that were previously installed update and run fine. Clicking install from Technic website copies link to clipboard. Typing in the search box shows no modpacks that are not built in or installed, pasting url shows no modpack, completely useless launcher for installation of modpacks. On OSX Yosemite with Java 1.8.

Honestly, the new launcher is a piece of crap. The ONLY thing that would fix that is to allow you to enter a URL into a box in the launcher and download it direct to say the least.

I'm having trouble. I want the "Ultimate real life role-play +" mod pack but whenever I search ANYTHING it says "Find more on the technic platform." and I click that, I copy the mod pack URL and, wait, WHERE DO I PASTE?!?

I cannot get new packs the "magic button" just copies a link I followed all of the instructions! The search bar does not work and it says that the link is invalid!!!
