Install Absolute Displeasure

Step 1

Installing a modpack using the Technic Launcher is easy. If you don't already have the launcher downloaded, visit our download page to get the latest version.

Step 2

Type in the modpack name (Absolute Displeasure) or paste the following url into the search box.

Step 3

Finally, click Install at the bottom right of the launcher after you select Absolute Displeasure from the list on the left. The launcher will handle everything else!

Welcome to Absolute Displeasure. If you came looking for a modpack that will challenge your skills, prepare to grab the noose with a beautiful overworld and a more realistic approach to Minecraft, not to say every mod here is realistic, but I'd like to say it's a realistic interpretation.

Use NEI to find the recipes of important items such as lanterns and shields. Do not be outside during the night.

If you need to play this modpack on peaceful, easy, or normal. This is not the modpack for you, but it should still be more than enough of a challenge for you on other difficulties.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to change a few of your keybinds. You'll be missing out on some key features if you don't. Especially on R and F.

What can you expect from this modpack?

  • Increasing difficulty the longer you survive. Mobs will gain more health over a long period of time, as well as an more difficult enemies spawning.

  • All blocks have physics. If the ground beneath your feet isn't stable enough, it could break off, taking you down with it. Ceilings can also collapse, as well as poor house builds.

  • Pitch black caves and the night is very dark, with lanterns to protect you from the darkness, as well as torches having mechanics changed. An open flame is extremely dangerous, you want to avoid torches.

  • Sanity, thirst, sleep, air quality temperature, and food spoilage.

  • Natural disasters. Fissures and tornadoes to keep you on your toes.

  • A variety of gases that will make caves very dangerous to explore.

  • A more difficult hunger system that encourages use of the vast variety in farming and diet, and many new food recipes. You can craft a cookbook to guide you, to save on looking things up.

  • Shields, dual wielding combat, improved combat mechanics, and a larger selection of weapons.

  • Many new mob types and improved mob tracking AI. (They will investigate strange noises, like your mining. They can also follow your blood trails if you're too injured.)

  • A beautiful sky and a huge variety of plants, biomes, and all new world generation to encourage exploration.

  • Difficult, but fair. The world punishes the greedy, lazy, and slow. This modpack will keep you on your toes no matter how far you've gotten.

  • No health regeneration, but most foods will restore a small amount of health, healing items will be quite the blessing. One of your ten hearts serves as a shield, it will regenerate after a while of not taking any damage.

  • Encouraged dungeoneering, fighting, and exploration with rewards. Fighting has great risk, the more you explore the depths below or stay outside, the more you tempt fate. But, tempting fate and surviving is what grants you paramount rewards. Defeating mobs grants you strength, as you can obtain additional health or weapon skill upgrades. Chests can grant you loot that can give you access to items unique to that dungeon, or provide resources that significantly increase your chance of survival.

And of course, there's always more to offer. (But do you really want an entire screen of reading?)

Removed Thaumic Tinkerer due to multiplayer incompatibility. Cleaned up few coremods that are no longer necessary.
