Trending Recalculation is Back!

We wanted to write a brief news post to remind you that a few days ago we shut off the trending recalculation until we could make some improvements to keep it from hurting the site.  Well, last night at 4am US Eastern time, we ran the trending recalculation once again.  It took about 30 minutes and both the site and launcher API were completely acessible during that time.  Our launcher API and Platform uptime for the last 24 hours are both 100%.  We wanted to let you know that this is happening, not just to let you know that Trending packs are at 100% again, but also to point out one of the things we've been doing this month to fix the site's reliability.  We hope you enjoy the slightly more stable website!

i miss the discussion section on mod packs why was that removed
DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
You mean the forums? They're still there, under Community.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
no the discussion section on each individual modpack where you reply to that specific modpack
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
You can reply to any status update on the mod. Or you can talk on the author's user page.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
talking on the authors user page goes towards all their modpacks each modpack use to have its own chat but with this system responding to a specific modpack is more difficult i just liked it the old way

why is this happening again?
the new launcher is completely useless ... better was the older one , in that they do not go nearly no new modpack , and did not ask us if we want it at all , the new launcher ...
ForeverStar1 9 years ago
Why don't you like it?
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
i agree the new one may have more things on it but its WAY TOO CHANGED and it doesn't work and its to confusing and it broke my modpack
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
How'd it break your modpack?
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
i cant update my modpack it tells me The Modpack Location you entered is not a valid location. this did not happen before
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
What location are you trying to use?
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
what do you mean the links from drop box if that is what you are asking
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
I mean give me the link so I can check it out. I can't diagnose "thing doesn't work" I have to see it myself.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
you mean my modpack link the link i put in the modpack location section in the edit modpack or are you referring to the message i get. i get that message when i try to add a update to my modpack and click the edit modpack button. at the top it tell me The Modpack Location you entered is not a valid location.
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
Yes, I want the link. That means the one that is a link, not the one that isn't a link.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
That link was disabled by dropbox for going over your bandwidth cap. We didn't do that.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
bandwidth cap whats that i have never heard of that
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
When you visit the link, it tells you the file has been downloaded too many times. You can only provide 20Gb worth of downloads in a day from dropbox before dropbox shuts it off.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
so it was just a coincidence that it started around the new update do you know how to fix it
Posted by DarkAssassin299 9 years ago
You need to get new hosting for your files.
Posted by CanVox 9 years ago
Good job on the progress! The update was nice :3 And im glad the Java problem got solved fast.
